TRI-152 Military Radio Knock-off

The TRI-152 military radio knock-off is a waste of money, the speaker argues, because it fails to function like the real Harris 152 it mimics. After a single drop, the battery connector broke, rendering the radio unusable, and it lacks compatibility with CHIRP and standard accessories like headsets and hand mics. The speaker recommends the Baofeng 152 as a cheaper, more functional alternative that looks similar and works with CHIRP.

You are the Weapon

The speaker argues that physical fitness is the foundation of preparedness, and that gear is useless if the user is not strong and conditioned enough to carry it. He recommends taking the Minute Man Combat Fitness Test to assess baseline standards, then training strength with heavy, low-rep lifts (4-6 reps) three times a week and building endurance through rucking, while emphasizing recovery. He cautions that many popular 'tactical fitness' programs are actually cardio, not strength, and that homestead chores do not replace structured strength training.

A Modern Solution to an old Grunt's Problems

The speaker argues that strapping a smaller patrol pack to a larger rucksack is a practical fieldcraft solution for carrying multiple bags, rather than packing the smaller bag inside the larger one, which wastes space. He demonstrates how the Crossfire day pack can be clipped onto the CF2 rucksack, allowing easy detachment at a patrol base or assembly area. He notes that this is an improvement over the old ALICE method of strapping gear on top, and that the day pack also works well as a standalone bag.

Bugout Vehicles for Normal People | Professional Citizen Project

Most people cannot afford a dedicated bugout vehicle, so the speaker argues that daily drivers should be kept in an 'always ready' state instead. He emphasizes basic maintenance and having tools like a shovel and tow strap to clear fallen trees, which are common obstacles in mountainous areas. He also notes that a come-along can be more practical than a winch for solo recovery, and that knowing your vehicle's fuel economy under different conditions is crucial.

Plugging a Flat Tire

Plugging a worn tire with a rope plug kit can work even for a slit, but the process is messier and more difficult than the commercials suggest. The speaker demonstrates that you must first locate the leak, then use the cleaning tool to enlarge the hole, insert a sticky plug, and trim any excess. He notes that while the Kevlar layer may resist, slow leaks can still be plugged, and recommends monitoring the repair for a few days.
