iPhone Duo Review: First Generation Fun!

The first-generation iPhone Duo is polished around the edges but rough in the middle, argues Marques Brownlee. It excels at multitasking with two apps side by side and has a beautiful inner display, but it's thicker and heavier than competitors, and many apps aren't optimized yet. He recommends it mainly for those who want a pocketable iPad mini and can tolerate the compromises, while noting that Face ID is the biggest thing users will miss.

The NEW Tesla Roadster: My Honest Reaction

Tesla's new Roadster reveal was a spectacle of engineering stunts, but the real substance lies in the fan-based downforce system and optional cold-gas thrusters, which enable extreme acceleration and handling. The speaker argues that while the fan car tech is genuinely impressive and track-relevant, the rocket thruster party tricks are impractical and unlikely to ever be street legal. He concludes that the Roadster remains a low-priority product for Tesla, and the 2028 delivery promise should be taken with skepticism.

Apple Homeview Impressions: Not Convinced!

Apple's Home View is a $300 smart home display that Marques Brownlee argues is not convincing for most people. He notes that while it has clever features like fast account switching via facial recognition, it lacks voice recognition, has no third-party apps, and the wall-mounted version costs the same as the stand version but sounds worse and requires a separate adapter. He concludes that after the novelty wears off, it becomes just an LCD square with a speaker, and recommends skipping it for now.

WTF is a Googlebook?

Google's new Googlebook laptops run a new OS that feels like Android and aim to offer deep integration with Pixel phones, but they cost as much as a MacBook Air while lacking a mature app ecosystem. Marques Brownlee argues that most Play Store apps are not optimized for the desktop experience, making the devices a tough sell for most buyers, though they may appeal to Pixel fans and coders who can use Google's agentic tools.

Xiaomi 18 Fold: How Does This Happen?

The Xiaomi 18 Fold, unveiled two days before the iPhone Duo, matches its dimensions but adds a larger battery, a zoom camera, and lighter weight, argues Marques Brownlee. He explains that Apple's supply chain leaks months before launch, allowing Xiaomi to rush out a similar device first, though the iPhone's software animations remain a differentiator. He notes the Xiaomi has a more visible crease and a hole-punch camera, and that the iPhone Duo's battery and camera specs are still unconfirmed.
