Last updated May 30, 2026. This one-page notice covers the privacy, terms, and cookie policies for Ask Channel AI.
Privacy Policy
This section explains what Ask Channel AI collects, why we collect it, and how you can ask us to delete or export it.
Information we collect
- Google login data: your Google account ID, email address, display name, and profile image when you sign in.
- Anonymous session data: a random channel_ai_anon_id stored in a cookie and local storage for signed-out usage limits and basic continuity.
- App activity: prompts, chat messages, answers, selected channels, selected videos, conversation metadata, usage counters, and operational logs.
- Imported content: channel and video metadata, transcripts or transcript-derived text, generated summaries, quote/search indexes, chunks, embeddings, and import job status.
- Billing and email data: Stripe customer/subscription identifiers and Resend delivery records for transactional emails.
- Technical data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, and similar information collected automatically for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
How we use information
- We use this information to provide search, chat, import, transcription, account, billing, abuse prevention, security, debugging, and support features.
- We use transcript chunks and embeddings to retrieve relevant source material for answers. We use prompts and source excerpts to generate AI responses.
- We may send transactional emails, such as import completion or account-related notices. Any promotional email will include opt-out instructions.
We do not sell your personal information
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We share data only with the service providers below, to meet a legal obligation, to protect the service and our users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (where the recipient must honor this policy).
YouTube and Google data
- The app uses YouTube data and YouTube embeds. Your use is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- We use YouTube data to find channels/videos, show metadata, link back to YouTube, and support AI search over imported content. We do not claim ownership of YouTube content, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
- You can revoke Google sign-in access from https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Revoking access does not delete data stored by YouTube; it only affects Ask Channel AI account access and stored data we control.
Data security
- We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and any regulators where required by law.
International data transfers
- We operate online and use providers located in various countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live, including in the United States.
- Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers so your information receives a comparable level of protection.
Retention
- Account profile data is kept until you delete your account or ask us to delete it, subject to legal, security, billing, and backup retention needs.
- Conversation data is kept until you delete the conversation or account. Deleting a top-videos conversation also removes its stored transcript bundle.
- Imported channel/video data and derived indexes are kept while the imported content remains available in the service. Account deletion removes imported channels/videos owned by that account and the derived records we control.
- Some security logs, billing records, provider records, and backups may remain for a limited period where required for compliance, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute handling, or disaster recovery.
Your privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar)
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent or opt out of certain uses.
- You can delete individual conversations in the chat interface and delete your account from the Account page. To access, export, correct, or restrict other data, contact us on our Discord server (https://discord.gg/vefAsvmuk6) and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
- We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
- Ask Channel AI is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
- Contact us on our Discord server (https://discord.gg/vefAsvmuk6) if you believe a child provided personal information to the service, and we will delete it.
Terms of Service
These terms apply when you access or use Ask Channel AI. By using the service, you agree to use it responsibly and only in lawful ways.
Beta service and no professional advice
- Ask Channel AI is provided as a beta product for AI-assisted search and analysis of YouTube channel and video content.
- AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, fabricated, or inappropriate for your situation. You are responsible for checking sources and deciding how to use the output.
- The service does not provide legal, medical, financial, psychological, relationship, or other professional advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Do not rely on it for any decision that requires professional judgment.
User responsibilities
- Do not use the service to infringe copyrights, violate platform rules, bypass access controls, harass people, collect sensitive personal information, or break the law.
- Only import, search, or analyze content where your use is lawful and consistent with applicable platform terms and creator rights.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, overload, scrape, disrupt, abuse, or build a competing product from the service or its providers.
Source content and your responsibility
- You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights needed to import, transcribe, analyze, and otherwise process any content you bring into the service, including YouTube videos and their captions.
- You direct what content is imported. By importing content, you represent that doing so is lawful and that you have any permissions required from the relevant rights holders and platforms.
- We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. Responsibility for copyright and platform-terms compliance for processed third-party content rests with the user who imports it.
Age and eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old and old enough to use the service under the laws where you live.
- If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
YouTube content and trademarks
- YouTube videos, captions, channel metadata, thumbnails, and related content remain owned by their respective rights holders. We do not claim ownership of them.
- The service is designed to cite and link back to YouTube so users can verify context at the source. We reference channel and video names only to identify the underlying source.
- Ask Channel AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube and Google are trademarks of their respective owners, and these terms do not grant you rights to our or any third party’s trademarks or logos.
Subscriptions and auto-renewal
- Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Prices, billing interval, renewal terms, and plan limits are shown before checkout.
- Subscriptions automatically renew for the same interval at the then-current price until you cancel. You can manage or cancel billing at any time from the Account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
- Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. Cancellation timing, refunds, credits, and taxes may depend on Stripe settings, applicable law, and the plan terms shown at checkout.
Disclaimer of warranties
- THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT TRANSCRIPTS, SUMMARIES, OR AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Limitation of liability
- TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASK CHANNEL AI AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR USD $100. THESE LIMITS APPLY EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE, AND SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW SOME OF THESE LIMITS.
Indemnification
- You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ask Channel AI and its operators, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with the content you import or process, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms, applicable law, or the rights of any third party.
Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or terminate access for abuse, security risk, nonpayment, legal risk, or violation of these terms, with or without notice where permitted.
- You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute terms) will survive.
Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws applicable at Ask Channel AI’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
- Before bringing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us using the contact method below and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally.
Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated terms here with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, may provide additional notice.
- Your continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Cookie Notice
Essential cookies
- channel_ai_anon_id stores a random signed-out identifier in a cookie and local storage for usage limits and continuity. The cookie expires after about 7 days unless refreshed.

Third-party cookies and scripts
- Google login, YouTube embeds, Stripe checkout/billing, and similar providers may set their own cookies or use local storage under their own policies.
- You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, billing, or signed-out usage limits from working correctly.
