POV: You Stopped Upgrading Your Lifestyle - Then Everything Changed

The Diderot effect explains how one new purchase can trigger a chain of unplanned spending, as a single item resets your standards and makes surrounding possessions feel inadequate. The speaker argues that upgrades often become downgrades, and recommends predicting the full system cost before buying, using a one-in-one-out rule, and deliberately choosing humble anchor items to avoid escalating lifestyle costs.

Sending Business / sales Proposals is not it. 💡

Sending a proposal before a verbal agreement sabotages B2B deals, argues the speaker, because it hands over your value and lets the prospect commoditize you into a price comparison. Instead, co-create the scope and price on a live call, get a verbal yes, and only then send a one-page summary for signature to maintain momentum and emotional buy-in.
