Silicon Valley Coordinates x Google VP of Engineering Bill Jia: From Compute to Scale: The Future...

Google VP Bill Jia argues that massive AI infrastructure investment is necessary despite current negative cash flow, because future demand will be 10x to 100x greater. He sees inference compute dominating over time and recommends startups focus on building cost-efficient, scalable AI agents for inference optimization across diverse hardware and models. He also notes that power is the main bottleneck for data center expansion, and that memory will remain in short supply.

Silicon Valley Coordinates x Datadog CPO | HYSTA Chair Yanbing Li: AI Adoption Enters the ROI Era

Yanbing Li argues that the main obstacle to AI scaling is managing and governing it, with observability becoming crucial for ensuring trust, security, and ROI. She notes that Datadog's market value doubled after being the first to recover from the SaaS downturn, driven by real demand from top AI companies. She also highlights that specialized models built on proprietary data can match frontier models at a fraction of the cost, and that enterprise AI security concerns are more practical than doomsday scenarios.

硅谷坐标 x Ion Stoica教授（Databricks、Anyscale、LMArena 联合创始人）｜开源vs闭源、基础设施创业的机会

Ion Stoica argues that AI infrastructure is becoming increasingly complex and tightly coupled, creating opportunities for startups that solve emerging problems like post-training, multimodal data processing, and efficient data movement across clusters. He believes open-source models will not necessarily close the gap with proprietary ones but will become 'good enough' for many tasks, as seen with the shift in traffic from proprietary to open-source models. He also emphasizes that evaluation by real users, as done in LMArena, is crucial for building better AI.

Silicon Valley Coordinates x Fireworks AI Co-founder and CEO Qiao Lin: Cutting-edge intelligence ...
